Prior to her current position based in St. John’s, Tracey Simpson was BHP vice president procurement, oil & gas and technology, leading teams executing all category management activities globally for the two value chains. Prior to 2017, when she joined the petroleum business in Houston, she spent 10 years with BHP in Singapore and Australia in mining-focused commercial roles covering strategic sourcing, supplier relationship management and market intelligence.
Tracey’s leadership accountabilities have included extensive involvement with local procurement and indigenous contracting, as well as the development and execution of long-term global strategic alliances with business partners.
Before joining BHP, Tracey worked for 10 years across a variety of industries including management consulting, forestry, rail and geotechnical engineering. She holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours), and a postgraduate Diploma in Business Administration from the University of Auckland, as well as an Executive Master in Change from INSEAD business school.
