Noia announces conference technical session speakers

After successful implementation last year and positive feedback from members and delegates, Noia’s Oil & Gas Conference 2019 will have a technical program again this year.

Afternoon technical sessions begin on Tuesday, June 18 at the St. John’s Convention Centre. The first session focuses on new development and includes discussion on 4G and 5G digitalization in the offshore, standardization and marginal fields. Anders Tysdal, chief strategy officer with Tampnet, Mike Mcguire, special advisor, regulatory reform with the Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers and Metzi Prince, R&D delivery manager with PRNL will present on these forward-looking topics for the offshore oil & gas industry.

During the second day of the technical program the focus will be on drilling and exploration and include presentations about onboard drilling simulators, rig intake regulations and new technology for drill rigs.. The presenting panel will include Jim Krupa, regional director, Americas for Drilling Systems, Richard Kennedy, station manager for DNV GL and Surrey Lane, reliability manager with Transocean.

The third session of the technical program occurs on Thursday, June 20 and includes discussion on existing asset base. This session will discuss the evolution of simulation to engineering tools, provide global insights into oil & gas regulatory frameworks and cover asset integrity integrated CO2 capture for enhanced oil recovery. Speakers are Clayton Burry, president of Kongsberg Digital Simulation, Tom Ekel, project director with Lloyd’s Register, David Smith of Eigen and Lesley James, associate professor at Memorial University.

All technical sessions are included with a full conference delegate pass and begin daily at 3:00 p.m.
