Noia 2014 Conference to focus on the future of the oil & gas industry

Noia’s 30th annual conference, Play on the Edge, will feature speakers who will look at the future of the local oil & gas industry.  The conference, to be held from June 17-20, 2014 at the St. John's Convention Centre, will include a line-up of speakers who will engage in discussion regarding the new seismic data that has been uncovered from the new frontier basins off the coast of Newfoundland & Labrador and has captured the growing attention of the international oil & gas industry.

Delegates will gain first-hand insight into this highly prospective and exciting oil & gas region and learn from other regions on how to sustain the local industry.  Session speakers include:

  • William Medvei,  Senior Research Analyst, Wood Mackenzie will discuss the global economic outlook for oil & gas and  future trends for the industry
  • Erling Kvadsheim, Director, Environment & Industry Policy, Norwegian Oil & Gas Association will provide delegates with insights into the Norwegian model and provide lessons learned from that region’s thriving industry
  • Jim Keating, Vice-President, Oil & Gas, Nalcor Energy will discuss Newfoundland & Labrador’s prospectivity
  • Charles Randell, President & CEO, C-CORE will discuss the technology of the future
