Marine Atlantic provides daily ferry service to and from the Province of Newfoundland and Labrador. The Corporation’s fleet provides a passenger and commercial service. Daily service is provided year-round between Port aux Basques, NL and North Sydney, NS. A seasonal route provides tri-weekly service between Argentia, NL (131 kilometres from the City of St. John’s) and North Sydney, NS between June and September. Its modern and efficient vessels provide the traveller with a reliable ferry service and numerous on board amenities. Transporting in excess of 100,000 commercial units annually, the service is well-positioned to transport a wide range of commodities for the oil and gas industry.

Strait of Belle Isle
The Apollo provides daily service between St. Barbe, Newfoundland and Blanc Sablon in Quebec. The vessel can accommodate 240 passengers and 85 automabiles. Crossing time is approximately 1 hour 45 minutes. Reservations are not required but recommended

The MV Northern Ranger services the communities of coastal Labrador from Black Tickle in the south to Nain in northern Labrador with a weekly service that stops at Goose Bay and Rigolet north and southbound. The Ranger is a passenger/freight vessel which can accommodate 131 passengers. The ship operates from June until November.
Operated by Nunatsiavut Marine, the ship loads cargo in Lewisporte, NL and delivers to Black Tickle, Rigolet, Makkovik, Postville, Hopedale, Natuashish and Nain and stops in the coastal Labrador communities on its way back to Rigolet and Goose Bay. Due to the opening of Phase III of the Trans Labrador Highway, which connects Goose Bay to Cartwright to Southern Labrador, freight is no longer accepted between Lewisporte – Goose Bay – Cartwright. The vessel operates based on freight demand.
